CMC Physicians Give Back on Doctors’ Day
4/18/2024
In celebration of National Doctors’ Day, recognized annually on March 30, Carlsbad Medical Center honored its medical staff by donating to area charities.
Doctors’ Day is set aside to recognize physicians for their skills, sacrifice and service to the community. But true to their ongoing care and compassion toward others, CMC physicians decided to select nonprofit organizations to receive donations in lieu of tokens of gratitude the hospital typically provides them in honor of Doctors’ Day.
For the second year in a row, the medical staff voted to support Carlsbad Lifehouse, Inc., which helps provide care for individuals with substance abuse and mental health challenges, and the Southeast New Mexico Veterans Transportation Network, which transports armed forces veterans in the Southeast New Mexico area to and from medical appointments, free of charge. Each organization was presented with $1,750 on behalf of the CMC medical staff.
“We are grateful to the physicians on our medical staff not only for the excellent care they provide to our patients, but also for their dedication to our community and their support of these very deserving non-profit organizations,” said Nick Arledge, CMC chief executive officer.
